A Lifekind^® exclusive, our Trio natural-rubber mattress offers the ultimate in comfort, featuring three layers of 100% Talalay natural rubber surrounded by a quilted cover of Naturally Safer^® pure wool and certified organic cotton that zips on three sides for easy assembly. Easily customizable for sleepers who prefer a mattress in the medium-soft to medium-firm range, The Trio's five "sleep zones" reduce pressure-point discomfort while its open-channel-construction top layer increases air circulation. This mold-, mildew-, and dust-mite-resistant mattress is handmade right here in Northern California from American organic raw materials. (Dimensions may vary slightly.)

Most of our customers prefer our standard Trio layering configuration: Our 3.5” medium-soft sculpted surface as the top layer, a 3” medium-firm layer in the middle, and the firmest 3” layer on the bottom. However, you are offered the flexibility of customizing your mattress by configuring the layers in different firmnesses at no extra charge. Each layer is encased in a certified organic cotton knit fabric, and the three layers can easily be interchanged depending on each sleeper’s physical characteristics and sleeping position(s). The mattress finishes at approximately 10” high.

And if for some reason you would like to change layers at any time within the first three months, no problem. Our one-time, 90-day Comfort Exchange Program allows you to exchange one or more layers without having to exchange the whole mattress. We’ll send you one or more new layers via UPS Ground; simply return the original layer(s) to us in the same box(es). You are responsible only for the UPS charges one way.

Our upholstered Wood-Slat Foundation is ideal for use with the Trio. It can also be used on a platform bed frame without a foundation. In this case, we recommend that support slats be between 2” and 3” apart. We also suggest the use of our Wool Underbed Pad to prevent the wood slats from chafing against the organic cotton cover fabric and the mattress from being contaminated by dust and pollens. This mattress can also be used with an electric bed frame.

Although covered by our limited 20-year warranty, it is not unusual for The Trio to last much longer.

Don't let the words confuse you. "Latex mattress," "natural rubber mattress," and "natural mattress" can all be used to describe products that are far from all-natural. Most so-called "natural rubber" mattresses are actually a blend of natural rubber and synthetic latex (styrene-butadiene rubber, or "SBR"), which can offgas unhealthful fumes.
