Question:

How are the rails attached to the frame. Also, how are the legs adjustable for heights? Does this weigh more than one person needed to put together? How much weight does it hold. Thank you, Sandra

Answers:

  • The side rails are attached to the headboard and footboard by two bolts at each corner; the support rails are attached to the side rails by one bolt at either end (and then there are several "feet" that attach to the underside of the support rails to prevent sagging in the middle).  There are several sets of holes on the head and footboard, which allow the platform to be set at different heights: 7", 9.5", or 14".  The height can only be changed by disassembling the frame, though.  The frames themselves are not very heavy (the packed weight for all of the pieces of the King frame is about 100lbs), but it definitely helps to have two people when assembling (in order to get the bolts aligned in the proper holes).  These bed frames are rated to hold 500lbs.
