Question:

How does this kids mattress differ from the twin size mini Euro?

Answers:

  • This mattress is actually just the same as the Twin Mini Euro!  We simply market it differenty to make it clear that it is a great option for children (especially when used in a bunk bed or trundle).

Question:

Hi again, using an organic cleaning company would hot water extraction be safe and effective for the mattress? Thanks

Answers:

  • No, we would not recommend using the hot water extraction method to clean one of our mattresses.  It is always best to limit the amount of moisture that a mattress is exposed to, since it can lead to mold or mildew.  Also, the high temperatures used in hot water extraction are likely to damage the latex (which tends to harden when exposed to extreme temperatures).

Question:

Hi there, is this mattress okay to have professionally cleaned to get rid of pee stains and smells? Thanks

Answers:

  • We don't generally recommend professional cleaning, mainly because it often incudes chemical cleaning agents.  The best way to care for the mattress (other than keeping it protected with a mattress pad), is to spot-clean the surface using an enzyme-based cleaner.  The dampened areas can then be sprinkled with baking soda to help draw out moisture and odors (just dust/vacuum it off, once dry).  The mattress should be allowed to dry thoroughly before bedding is put back on (use a fan or open a nearby window to ensure adequate airflow while it is drying).

Question:

Can you tell me the length and width of this mattress? We need it for a bunk bed and I'm not sure from the photo whether or not it will fit. Thanks!

Answers:

  • The Youth bed measures approximately 38x75 inches (it is a standard Twin size).  The depth of the mattress is approximately 4 inches (as opposed to the regular Euro, which measures about 7 inches deep).

Question:

We are looking for a mattress to fit in the trundle bed under our daughter's mattress and it'll only fit a 4" thick mattress. Are the dimensions accurate on this mattress? From the picture it looks to be a little thicker than 4". We can't fit a 6" mattress, so just want to confirm. Thanks!

Answers:

  • Hi Stephanie, the Youth Bed is actually 4" high, or just slightly over or under. We would estimate that 4.5" is the highest it would ever be, even with the variation.

Question:

Does this mattress need to be on a slat frame or is a solid piece underneath ok?

Answers:

  • We recommend a slatted foundation for any of our mattresses.  This is for the sake of ventilation... we give off almost a pint of moisture as we sleep and that moisture can lead to mold/mildew issues if it is not able to escape the mattress.  You may either use this mattress with our Upholstered Wood-slat Foundation or else with a slatted-platform bed frame with a slat spacing of somewhere between 2 and 3 inches.

Question:

Is this Talalay Latex? Or is it Dunlop Latex? If neither, which method has been used to make the latex in this mattress (the Talalay or the Dunlop)?

Answers:

  • All our mattresses are made with Dunlop latex exclusively, which carries a GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) certification.

  • We use Dunlop only in our mattresses, because there is a certification that exists for it (but not for the Talalay, yet). The Dunlop latex is certified according to the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOTS).
