Our all-wool pillow is soft and springy, and offers a medium support. This is a good choice for those who wish to replace either a down or a poly-fill pillow. Like our other wool products, it resists dust mites, wicks away body moisture, and helps keep your body temperature regulated. Covered in GOTS-certified organic cotton. Handmade in the USA.

Which Loft — Light, Medium, Or Full

Our wool pillows are available in three fill weights. The light loft is perfect for children or stomach sleepers. Back sleepers usually choose the medium. The full loft offers the best support for side sleepers. Depths range from approximately 3" to 5." (Note that wool fillings will compress approximately one-third over time.)

Pure Certified Organic Wool Pillow Care

A pillow barrier cover is the best way to protect your pillow. To renew and deodorize your wool pillow, expose to sunlight and fresh air for a couple of hours. To eliminate odors, sprinkle baking soda on the pillow's slightly dampened surface, then when dry, simply vacuum it up. Do not wash. Pillow shams that match our duvet (comforter) covers are also available in most sizes.

  1. Didn't work out. Review by Jamikair

My wool pillow felt just like what I wanted it to feel. The problem was the odor. I couldn't have the pillow in the same room without smelling it. I called Lifekind feeling like I was a pretty good customer, having bought two queen mattresses and my third pillow and they repeated the airing out info but did not offer a return. I live in Florida and all winter on sunny days I religiously put it on top of my clothes line and flipped it daily. I tried it with a pillow protector and two cases and it still didn't work out. It is still on top of my closet, unused to this day. I am pretty surprised to read others haven't noticed. Mine must have been a fluke, but wished I could have returned it and tried again. I gave two stars for the feel. (Posted on 3/23/16)

  2. Disappointed Review by M. Mitchell
    Rate Item

We were excited to get our new wool pillows. We chose the medium loft king size. What a disappointment. They are so flat. It is like sleeping on a very old pillow. They look more like the light size pictured. There is about an inch to an inch and a half between your ear and the bed. We sleep on our backs as well as our sides so the medium seemed like the obvious choice. What an expensive mistake. We gave it two stars only because they look nice and the health factor. 3. sleeping great on this wool pillow 3 months later Review by coldweathergirl

This was our first wool pillow purchase and I am very happy with it! I love that there was absolutely no off gassing smell or odor at all upon opening the bag it came sealed in. It feels safe and healthy to be sleeping on a pure wool pillow. I like a bulkier pillow and this suits me well. A vigorous fluffing each morning keeps the wool evenly spread throughout the pillow. My husband prefers pillow that are quite squishy and thus this did not suit his needs. I like neck and head support on a fuller pillow and found this full version to suit me much better than the medium. (Posted on 9/10/15)

Looking for a pillow that doesn't hurt my ear. From every other perspective than this, this is a nice pillow. But alas I still awoke with pain in the top of my ear. (Posted on 9/9/15)

  15. Improved Sleep! Review by carrie

    Light Loft Standard Purchase-
I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this pillow was. Most store bought pillows are too thick or too thin. Most have the cheap stuffing that you just cannot mold into a comfortable sleep aide. I would recommend this pillow to anyone. Even stomach sleepers can live with this one. (Posted on 5/5/15)

  16. The Lifekind Light Loft wool pillow is the answer to for all stomach sleepers. Review by Cornerstone
    Rate Item

Stomach sleepers have limited choices--virtually everything else is advertised for back, side or "all" sleepers. As a stomach sleeper my whole life, I know that universal pillows don't work well for us. The light loft wool has a low loft, but retains some firmness perfect for the stomach position. Also, Lifekind is highly recommended for genuine organic products, certified by every agency which matters (they don't, in their words, engage in "greenwashing.") Some other companies use all the politically correct green slogans but don't go all the way to create a sustainable, responsible product. (Posted on 4/22/15)

  17. Light for kids Review by JV
    Rate Item

We have bought three of the light wool pillows for our children. They are all several years old and have held up so well. We have a zippered cover for them as well. They were great for first pillows, not too big. And they still love their favorite pillows at 10, 9, and 7. I would never keep a regular pillow this long! But these are terrific and make a difference with allergies. They do not really cost any more considering their life span. Plus, they fold up, roll up, or can even be stuffed in luggage and overnight bags. (Posted on 4/10/15)

  18. Comfy Pillow Review by Holly

Not only is my wool pillow from Lifekind very comfortable but it's great sleeping on a pillow that is filled with pure organic wool and not some synthetic, toxic material made in China. (Posted on 10/23/14)

Question:

how thick is the flat pillow? I would like to compare it with the one I have back in Italy! Thanks!

Answers:

  • There can be a bit of variance, since the pillows are fill by weight (not to a specific height), but the "light" pillow will start out at about 3" deep.  Keep in mind that wool compresses by about 1/3 over time.

Question:

can you wash the wool pillows?

Answers:

  • No, since they will become matted and uncomfortable to use. We recommend the use of a pillow barrier instead to keep your pillow pristine for as long as you use it.
